The Poker Chronicles: Game On

I ask a small favor. If this clown actually responds with a comment, please waive your long standing "no stupid comments" rule and let it pass.

And are there any Republican left? I used to be one but after this decade I'm done with them. If they actually start living to their small government credo they might get me back, but I doubt it.

    This is my favorite part.

"He said the iPhone would not sell 10M units in 2008. Wrong! He said the Google Android phones would crush the iPhone. Wrong! He went out of his way to defend the Crap Vista Operating System. Wrong! He wrote a long post about Global Warming being a fact. Wrong!"

Oh, that Matt Maroon, always embarrassing himself with that crazy global warming talk.

    Nice rant!

LOL Yeah good rant Matt. Glad to see you are still posting occasionally on this old blog. What would the internet be without porn, gambling, and the ablility to slander others at a moments notice!

    I don't know, but I definitely wouldn’t pay $40 a month for it.

Of course he's a republican. One of his (two week old) posts: http://blinderspoker.blogspot.com/2009/01/will-...

The title should have been: How the entire galaxy would have benefited from not having a functional retard in the white house for eight years

I won't bother trying to out trash talk you, as you will obviously be the winner there. Lets just clear up a few points and call it a day. You have never run "hundreds of drafts a day". Saying that over and over again does not make it true. I have watched your site including the S&Gs and they do not fill up in minutes, even on Sundays. We show our contests for all to see. That is not pretend traffic, it is real traffic. "hundreds of drafts a day" is pretending. You have paid out more in prizes than you have collected in contest fees over the life of your site. I call that negative revenue. You may chose to spin it how you wish with overlays and freerolls being called marketing expenses or whatever. The fact is after running your contests you have less than zero to pay for the operating expenses of running them. Not sure what all of your unique visitors will be doing over the next 8 months while you don't run any fantasy leagues, but you are the PR expert. I wouldn't argue with me on Economics or Finance, because I have an MBA which trumps your degree in those areas. Continue to trust the economists and climate scientists at your own peril if you wish.
  • mattmaroon · 10 months ago
Well, you can simply deny our traffic if you like I suppose, but I know exactly how many drafts we ran. We have solid reporting metrics in place. It was never less than 100 in a day. If you choose not to believe it, that's fine, I don't care. I know exactly how many drafts we ran and how much we make, you don't. In fact I know how many drafts you run and how much you rake too (it's incredibly easy to build a script to watch) and trust me, we have a lot more.

A brief perusal of your blog shows you know next to nothing about economics. You don't even know what the credit crisis is, which is amazing. Did your MBA come from a Cracker Jack box?

And don't worry, the scientists and those of us who support them will save idiots like you from yourself.

FYI InstantFantasysports was taken over by rotoworld.

Depending on your concentration, most MBA programs would only required 3 or 4 total classes combined between Finance and Economics. And because the MBA is designed for non-business undegrads, the courses aren't even advanced. Lastly, unless you've spent a significant amount of your career working full-time in economics or finance, you probably don't know that much. Given the average post I've read here and there from your blog, I'd be willing to guess you aren't that bright.

Hi Matt, I love reading your rebuttal. But going off on a tangent, I've been reading Howard Lindzon's blog and he has an interesting piece on what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Just wondering if you had any thoughts on it as you are the epitome of an entrepreneur.
  • mattmaroon · 9 months ago
I don’t subscribe to it because it’s a little too market-focused for my taste, but I do read it every now and then when I find a link. He's got a good blog.

You ranked 36th for the top 100 poker blogs. Congrats :)

And only posting every 3 or 4 months. Not a competitive field I guess.

What happened to Matt Maroon is a better question.
