Sklansky's suggestion, later pick up on by the authors of Kill Phil I believe, makes a lot of sense because he's assuming a NLHE neophyte who would get slaughtered trying to "play poker". So there really isn't time to implement a more nuanced strategy. Like Bear Stearns, the girl he mentions in the book got away with it for a while. I forget whether she deviated from "The System" or whether she ran into aces.
